18-HOLE CHAMPIONSHIP
GOLF COURSE
COURSE LENGTH
6500 YARDS, PAR 70
PREMIER PRACTICE
FACILITY

In 2011, Bridges of Poplar Creek Country Club underwent a grand reinvention of the already stout 35-year-old golf course. Fifteen holes were enhanced under this period while other remarkable holes went unchanged. The addition of multiple tee boxes fulfills desires of all golfers alike with advanced golfers seeking added length and new golfers seeking shorter distances.
If you played Bridges of Poplar Creek Country Club prior to the renovation, you may remember a different starting hole. The first hole has now become Number 10, contributing to even greater enjoyment. Re-configured fairways and bunkers, planting of fescue for depth and definition, and new lakes make for challenging, yet fair hazards as well as terrific strategic shot values.
Picturesque, tree-lined and immaculate conditions from No. 1 tee to No. 18 green, a perfect blend of bark and benevolence satisfies golfers of all abilities. Boredom need not apply.
COURSE TOUR (HOLE BY HOLE)
The charm of the classic Killian-Nugent layout is preserved by the critically acclaimed re-design team of Lohmann Golf Design (Chicago).

HOLE 1 - PAR 4
424 • 395 • 339 • 305
Make sure your drive finds the fairway on this diffcult opening hole. A drive right will leave an approach blocked by trees. An approach from the fairway bunker on the left is no bargain either. Good Luck!

HOLE 5 - PAR 4
343 • 318 • 275 • 261
This short par 4 gives longer hitters an opportunity to drive the green, especially when the prevailing wind makes the hole play downwind. The conservative approach is a long iron or hybrid played into the fairway, leaving a short approach. This is one of the few greens on the course that slopes away from the player.

HOLE 6 - PAR 4
381 • 341 • 302 • 266
The sixth hole is another par 4 where position off the tee is more important than length. The aggressive tee shot is played toward a narrow neck of fairway bordered by a water hazard and bunker. The green is relatively flat, especially through the center. Beware of the back-left pin placement!

HOLE 7 - PAR 3
187 • 158 • 130 • 121
This medium-length par 3 features a green that tends to break more than players anticipate. Trees on the left block the breeze, but a high tee shot will still be greatly affected by the wind. The back-right pin placement presents the greatest challenge.

HOLE 8 - PAR 5
538 • 517 • 474 • 407
The first of two par 5s plays longer than its listed yardage because the second and third shots travel severely uphill. With two superb shots, the green can be reached in two. Players laying up must be wary of the bunker short and right of the green, as well as the grove of trees approximately 100 yards out on the left that seemingly swallows golf balls. Let it rip!

HOLE 9 - PAR 4
388 • 359 • 330 • 285
The only true dogleg on the course closes out the front nine. The tee shot should be played straight toward the bunker through the fairway. Players must hit their tee shot far enough past the corner to have an unobstructed approach to the green. Be careful—this hole can be a real killer to front-nine scores!

HOLE 10 - PAR 5
533 • 506 • 463 • 409
The second and final par 5 can be reached in two with two quality shots. A drive left of the cart path will kick toward out of bounds, and the bunkers on the right are no bargain either. Water pinches the approach on both sides, making the layup difficult. On this extremely sloping green, the best place to putt from is the middle.

HOLE 11 - PAR 3
207 • 180 • 145 • 121
Club selection is crucial because this green is 50 yards long. Regardless of the day’s pin location, staying below the hole is extremely important. Three-putts are very common on this green.

HOLE 12 - PAR 4
360 • 326 • 297 • 264
The tee shot should be a controlled layup placed in the fairway to avoid the bunkers on the right and the hazard on the left. This hole should yield plenty of birdies and is one of the easiest on the course. The green once again slopes from back to front.

HOLE 13 - PAR 4
408 • 383 • 340 • 260
A slight fade off the tee is the preferred shot shape. Players must avoid the fairway bunker on the left, while an errant tee shot to the right can leave the second shot blocked by trees. Multiple fairway bunkers protect the narrowest green on the course.

HOLE 14 - PAR 4
386 • 364 • 346 • 316
Another fade off the tee is beneficial on this slight dogleg right. Longer hitters can attempt to carry the bunker on the right, leaving a short wedge into the green. Beware of out of bounds along the entire left side and behind the green. The green is quite possibly the most difficult on the course.

HOLE 15 - PAR 4
341 • 324 • 306 • 275
The shortest par 4 on the course, this hole allows players to use an iron or hybrid off the tee and leave an easy wedge into the shallow green. A steep ridge bisects the middle of the putting surface. An aggressive drive can leave a short pitch, but depending on the pin location, it may also create a tricky shot onto this constantly sloping green.

HOLE 16 - PAR 4
424 • 395 • 339 • 305
Make sure your drive finds the fairway on this diffcult opening hole. A drive right will leave an approach blocked by trees. An approach from the fairway bunker on the left is no bargain either. Good Luck!

HOLE 17 - PAR 3
215 • 195 • 148 • 92
This is the Bridges’ signature hole. Many rounds are ruined on this dangerous par 3, which requires a carry over water. The hole plays slightly downhill and is highly exposed to the wind. If the pin is on the plateau at the front right, good luck!

HOLE 18 - PAR 4
450 • 404 • 363 • 301
The closing hole is the longest par 4 on the course and predominantly plays into the prevailing wind. A good drive will avoid the fairway bunker on the left and the trees on the right. A back pin requires precise distance control to avoid the deep bunker short of the green. A front or middle pin forces players to hit into the narrowest portions of the putting surface.
